School News...

If we wish to love God and serve our neighbor well,
We must manifest our joy in the service we render to Him and to them,
Let us open wide our hearts.
It is Joy which invites us.
Press forward and fear nothing.”
-St. Katherine Drexel

How appropriate is this quote from St. Katherine Drexel (Feast Day March 3rd) as we continue on our Lenten journey during this month of March.
MATH LEEAGUE
On February 23rd the Math League competition was held for our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Over one million students from the United States and Canada participate in Math League contests each year. Every contest has questions from different areas of mathematics. The goal is to encourage student’s interest and confidence in mathematics through solving “worthwhile” problems. The following are the results of this year’s competition: Grade 6 top scorers are James, Kevin, David, Elise and top scorer is Jodi Graf. Grade 7: Chris, Megan, Andrew, Maria and top scorer is Kelly. We have been looking to purchase a new reading series and this donation will help tremendously for us to reach that goal. It is through the generosity of so many of our STA families that we can offer these new and innovative materials. Thank You! Thank You!
Change in After School Schedule
Please remember to send a note to your child's teacher if his/her after school schedule changes. We need to have this information. Therefore, your child must have a written note for their teacher in the morning as to any activity or change of transportation. If there is no note, then we will assume he/she will go on their regular mode of transportation home.

“In Catholic school, there is no separation between time for learning and time for formation, between acquiring knowledge and growing in wisdom. The various school subjects do not present only knowledge to be attained, but also values to be acquired and truths to be discovered.”
