Any 2nd Grader will tell you that this year is one of the most important and exciting times of their lives. They understand that by receiving First Penance and Holy Eucharist they are given chances to stay close to Jesus. Talk with your child about making choices and how those choices result in rewards or consequences. Talk about how Jesus always forgives, so they understand the importance of giving and receiving forgiveness.

Students are working on Summer Solutions books as a curriculum review. When you are finished, here are some things to make sure you know: addition and subtraction facts to 20, related addition and subtraction facts, doubles, doubles + 1, doubles -1, count back/count up to subtract, fact families, tens and ones, numbers and number words to ninety-nine, ordinal numbers, even and odd numbers, counting by 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, and 10's, and rounding to the nearest ten.

Students are working on Summer Solutions for comprehension. Students should start reading 15 minutes everyday with a parent or by themselves. Read....it can take you anywhere!!

Please read aloud with your children everyday as you work on Summer Solutions for comprehension. Strengthen math facts, strategies for problems, and Summer Solutions Math will keep the curriculum fresh in their minds. Practice writing throughout the summer with a journal, letters to family and friends, stories, and plays.
