LOOK WHAT'S HAPPENING IN 7TH GRADE......
Writing
Our 7th Grade students are engaged in writing papers integrating topics in Social Studies and the MLA style of writing research papers. Students are currently working on comparison essays. Students are comparing John Locke's "Two Treatises of Civil Government" with the "Declaration of Independence".
Science
Our aspiring young CSI teams in the 7th grade are on the threshold of solving a "Microbe Murder Mystery" as part of their instruction in the Kingdom Protista. Students will test and examine different protists found in six water samples with the water taken from the lungs of the victim to determine where the murder took place.
Social Studies
We are currently exploring the Constitution and the struggles of a new nation to get it right. Our children are beginning to understand that our government and its people are continually trying to live-up to that most precious document. As we debate the Bill of Rights we take current events from newspapers to identify which of the Bill of Rights can be argued in a specific case.
Religion
As we study and, hopefully, live the New Testament; our children are listening, viewing, and meditating, on vocations. They are reflective in acknowledging the gifts and talents that God has given to them so they may serve Him and His Kingdom on Earth. Our children are understanding that whatever vocation they are called to fulfill; they can grace that calling with the presence of God and serve His people.
