A typical school day for students in Grades Kindergarten to 8 incorporates one (1), 10-minute snack period in the morning and a 45-minute lunch period. All students stay for lunch during the school year. The 45-minute lunch period is divided into 20 minutes for lunch and 25 minutes for play.
A prepared lunch can either be purchased or can be brought from home by the student. Emergency lunch is provided when a student forgets his or hers. The cost is equal to the cost of the daily prepared lunch.
Students are expected to clean their places after eating, pick up papers, dispose of them in the trash containers, and walk to the playground area when dismissed. Respect and courtesy are to be shown to the parents who supervise and assist during this time.
Weather permitting, the lunch recess is spent outdoors. Parents should not expect that their children will remain indoors during the lunch recess. If this is necessary, a note from a physician is required.
